Last Friday I had LASIK surgery on both of my eyes to enable me to see far, and by far I mean, anything at all because I was .50 away from being considered legally blind without prescription lenses. Because my left eye was of oblong shape with a killer astigmatism issue, I had to undergo two different types of laser surgery. Therefore, my right eye is good to go, no issue and clear vision for the most part. My left eye, however, is super blurry, watery, irritated and a pain in my butt! Like in the weaning process, I need to repeatedly remind myself that these symptoms are all part of the healing process; as annoying as they may seem. So, I'm in the office today with my stunna shades on (<-- I've linked that for those of you non urban dictionary users, for better understanding :))
I've had to smile, and fake chuckle through countless sunglasses and sunshine jokes all morning, but at least they can't see me rolling my eyes! kidding, kidding. I'm taking the prescribed medication eye drops and looking forward to my second follow up appointment on wednesday. Hooray for technology, can't wait to finally be able to drive at night with clear vision.
As far as weaning symptoms go, I have had brain zaps, hot flashes, body aches. Nothing that made me fall to my knees or anything but the hot flash that I had on Thursday was pretty gnarly. I must admit that I almost ripped off my clothes and frolicked through the office in my birthday suit. Lucky for my co-workers, I thought better of it. Tonight I lower my dose by another 10% which will place me at about 37.5mg. ONE PILL PER NIGHT (Insert nervous face here) I'd bite my nails but they're acrylic! The horror stories I've heard begin at about this dosage and lower so I am aprehensive and am aware that there could be issue BUT I am also aware that I won't stop regardless so might as well push the worry aside and concentrate on other things, like my eyes getting better, my reno Trip this coming weekend, Thanksgiving festivities and my family who has been more supportive and much more than my rock.
Love you guys
xoxo
